From automation draft to a running n8n flow

June 14, 2026 · aiio

ProcessForge doesn’t deliver a finished n8n flow — it delivers a ready-to-connect automation draft with the steps, exceptions, roles and escalations from your real as-is. You wire the flow from it in n8n: trigger, nodes, branches, access. That’s fast because the real thinking — what gets automated, edge cases included — already sits in the draft.

“Automate a process in n8n” sounds like: empty canvas, drag a node, wire a webhook, hope. The bottleneck is rarely n8n — it’s the question of what to automate, including the edge cases nobody wrote down. That’s exactly where the automation artifact comes in.

What ProcessForge delivers

From your living context — wikis, tickets, conversations — ProcessForge doesn’t build a tidy ideal flow. It builds a ready-to-connect automation draft: the steps in order, with the real branches.

  • Steps & triggers — what kicks the flow off, what happens next.
  • Exceptions — the detour when the invoice is over the limit or a field is missing.
  • Roles — who decides, who only gets notified.
  • Escalations — what happens when nobody responds after two days.

That’s the difference from a blank map: the draft already carries the edge cases, because it comes from the real as-is — not the workshop wish-picture.

What do you have to add in n8n yourself?

ProcessForge doesn’t export a finished flow at the push of a button, and never claims to. The draft is the build instruction — you build the flow in the tool, and it’s fast because the thinking is done.

  1. Set the trigger — the draft’s trigger becomes your n8n trigger (webhook, schedule, app event).
  2. Steps as nodes — each step becomes a node; the order is already fixed.
  3. Wire the branches — exceptions become IF/Switch nodes, escalations a Wait + notification.
  4. Add the access — credentials, recipients, real URLs. Only your system knows those, not the draft.

The draft tells you what the flow has to do. n8n is just the wiring.

Why it holds

A flow built from an honest draft doesn’t fall over on the first edge case — because the edge case was in there from the start. When the process changes, ProcessForge rebuilds the draft, and the diff shows you which nodes to touch. Artifact out, wired in the tool, running.
